Interfaith IMPACT of New York State

earlier this month i traveled to Albany, NY to participate in an advocacy event sponsored by Interfaith IMPACT a group that advocates "for state policies that improve the lives of all new yorkers while stressing the moral and ethical values of these policies." i was very impressed with their work and the relationships that have been built with congressional members, staffers and religious groups.
i spoke briefly about the connections between state and federal advocacy efforts. there is a lot of overlap in issues and messaging and i think that we can all benefit by being informed. II is advocating for state funding for comprehensive sexuality education, similar legislation to the REAL Act which i lobby for federally. there can be a lot of strength in sharing common religious messaging and resources about specific issues.
