Madison!

i was back in Madison last weekend to do an "Inspired Faith-Effective Action" workshop for the Central Midwest District Assembly. I felt really confident leading the workshop and i had a lot of positive feedback from participants which was really exciting. the information i covered seemed to resonate with them.

then last night, i viewed a film called "Abstinence comes to Albuquerque" which was about the change in the public school district's use of federal funding for their sex ed curricula from abstinence only to comprehensive. it was really inspiring and the issue was initially brought up by a mother whose daughter came to her with questions about the information she had learned. During the interview with the daughter i noticed she was wearing a chalice necklace!! i was very excited to know that UU's all over the country are leading the fight for comprehensive sexuality education.

and now back to madison! it was so refreshing to be back in what i still consider home (the midwest) filled with lakes and open green space, lots of bikes and really good friends. it was so amazing to see so many people almost graduating and doing so well and still playing frisbee. i miss it so much! nobody told me that the transition into the working world would be difficult. i'll never be a college student again but i'm looking forward to grad school...
